In a competitive area 19 Horse Trials qualifier, Tavy Valley Riding Club was triumphant in the Senior Novice section, beating 17 teams to pole position at the popular venue of Southcott Farm, Winkleigh, North Devon. The small club, which has just 25 members and is based at Andy Reeves' St Leonard's Equitation Centre near Launceston, fielded one team with two new riders stepping in admirably.

The 10-year-old chestnut gelding Whisper (by Wolkentanz I x Einstand) tested positive to Fluphenazine, a drug usually applied as antipsychotic for humans. It is used for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. One of its side effects is sedation, which is a reason why it could be used on horses.
