Diesel Thefts From Vehicles

POLICE are appealing for information after a spate of diesel thefts in Devon. In the first incident, a lorry cab in Southley Road, South Molton, had its fuel cap removed and fuel worth Pounds 130 stolen overnight on September 2. In the Old Market Field area of Witheridge, near Tiverton, several lorries were targeted around September 10, with caps forced and fuel siphoned out.

BRITISH 250CC Moto X Champion Stephen Sword was overall winner of the Open Class races in the final round of the National Championships staged by ACU events Ltd at the Landrake Moto-Park. Riding a 450 KTM, he finished third in the first 16-lap race after passing Tom Church four laps from the end, and he won the second to finish level on points with Billy Mackenzie, winner of the first race by six seconds from Shaun Simpson, who took third place in the second race.

RICHARD Logan's 87th-minute header rescued a point for Exeter City as they fought back to claim a 1-1 draw with Swindon Town at St James' Park. The striker was only on the field for the last 15 minutes, but he made a telling contribution by powering in Danny Seaborne's excellent cross after Kevin Amankwaah had given the Robins the lead early in the second half.
