Afghan Deaths 'Not Due to Lack of Helicopters'

Summary


GORDON Brown insisted yesterday that British troops in Afghanistan were getting the equipment they needed, and denied the recent spate of deaths had been caused by a shortage of helicopters.

Earlier, the head of the Army General Sir Richard Dannatt called for "more boots on the ground" in Helmand province and an injection of "more energy" into the process of getting equipment to UK troops fighting the Taliban.
