The Royal Smithfield Christmas Fair, a major South West agricultural event, has been cancelled because of foot and mouth disease and bluetongue movement restrictions in the South East, writes Peter Hall, Farming Editor.
Though there are now no restrictions at all in the Westcountry, with livestock markets and exports restored, organisers decided to call off the prestigious national show, scheduled to be held at the Royal Bath & West of England Showground at Shepton Mallet on November 30 and December 1.See the full content of this document
