S O AFTER two years of acrimonious legal arguments, the Cleese divorce has been finalised and a settlement reached - it would be fairly safe to say the Oscar-nominated comedy actor is probably not laughing now, having had to shell out Pounds 8 million in cash and assets plus more than Pounds 600,000 annually for the next seven years.

The protracted court proceedings could probably have been avoided if the couple had signed a pre-nuptial agreement - something Mr Cleese should maybe have realised, given this was his third marriage and had previously reached financial agreements with his first two wives.
