Anti-Hunting Group Wants It Both Ways ; Letters

Summary

One always knows when November arrives: just as pictures of robins on cards herald the Christmas season, so the plethora of letters to the Press from employees and acolytes of the League Against Cruel Sports (LACS) herald the hunting season.

Currently the LACS is trying to have things both ways: first, it claims that the law banning hunting is a great success. If that is true, then it should disband, its job done. Paradoxically, it also states that it will be spending Pounds 1 million on "monitoring" hunts because, so it also claims, they routinely break the law. If that is so, then the law is not successful. If indeed the law does not work, the LACS has continued its own long career of failure to stop people hunting, unlike its more successful career of money raising.
