Lecturer Win Scutt, of Plymouth College of Further Education, has been shortlisted for a national "Oscar" in archaeology. Mr Scutt, who has been contributing an archaeology feature on BBC Radio Five Live every week since 2002, is up for the Wedgwood Press Award. He is also a familiar voice on BBC Radio Devon, talking about local history every Wednesday morning with Gordon Sparks on the Plymouth Breakfast Show. The winner will be named at the British Archaeological Awards ceremony in Birmingham today.
CORNWALL'S first ever graduate careers fair takes place on Wednesday at the Tremough campus in Penryn, near Penzance, with over 40 exhibitors available to meet recent and future graduates of the nine universities and colleges in the Combined Universities in Cornwall partnership. National organisations like the BBC, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Reuters will be there alongside local employers. Truro College and Cornwall College will run buses to and from Tremough, and there is a free park and ride scheme from Ponsharden, Falmouth.
