Summary


Antoine Dury, known as Tony Dury, was born on March 22, 1819 in Lyons, France, and was a pupil of Claude Bonnefond (1796-1860), and Francois Edouard Picot (1786-1868), at the art schools in Lyons during the years 1831-1834 and 1838.

He also studied in Paris in 1836 and began to show portraits from 1844 in Paris, two being named Interior of St Etienne-du-Mont and Interior of Notre-Dame in Paris.
