Summary
If you like a lighter style of red wine, Beaujolais makes an ideal partner for turkey. My current favourites include Marks & Spencer's deliciously juicy and concentrated Beaujolais Lantignie 2010 at Pounds 7.99 and Hospices de Beaujeu Beaujolais Villages 2010 reduced from Pounds 8.49 to Pounds 6.29 at Waitrose which has a vigorous redfruit freshness and an appealing twist of peppery spicy at the edge.
Grander Beaujolais from the "crus" - ten vineyard zones with their own appellations - cost a bit more but delivery extra gravitas. Try Chateau de Raousset 2009 from the cru of Chiroubles (Pounds 10.33 from Christopher Piper Wines of Ottery St Mary, Devon) for its fulsome purple plumpness, intense summer red fruit and vivacious ripeness.See the full content of this document
