Summary


I've written a book - Suez: The Hidden Truths, which details those turbulent years of the Suez Emergency of the early 1950s, when thousands of troops, many of them National Servicemen, were posted to defend the canal zone against a hostile and barbaric foe in absolutely appalling conditions in quite an inhospitable land.

Indeed, at that time there were many hotspots of the Colonial Empire to be policed, as well as the threat from the USSR. One in particular was the gateway to the East - the Suez Canal zone in Egypt, where by 1951 nationalism was becoming the new and rising force.
