Two hundred years after the creation of a tramroad in Cornwall, villagers are to hold a bicentennial festival celebrating its history and heritage.

In 1809, Francis Basset, Lord De Dunstanville, laid the first piece of track on the Portreath to Poldice tramroad. It was the first tramroad in the county, linking Cornwall's inland mines with Portreath harbour.
