MORE people, both young and old, will be tempted between the covers of a book to mark World Book Day this coming Thursday. A lack of time, cost, and a low boredom threshold turn many adults and children away from a good book - but reluctant readers will be persuaded to give the written word another shot, with gripping reads from the best contemporary writers in taster-sized volumes to encourage reading for fun.

For children and teenagers, there are six special Pounds 1 flip books, each offering two stories by two authors, with a title for each age group from tots to teens.
