Summary
Sir edmund Hillary enjoyed a wonderful life as an explorer and mountaineer, and was first to conquer Everest, accompanied by the loyal Sherpa, Tenzing. After this successful climb in 1953, Hillary devoted much of his life to making the lives of the Sherpa people more comfortable through his charity the Himalayan Trust.
He died in January, aged 88, and a book about this enigmatic individual forms part of the eclectic display of Cloud Cuckoo Land's at tomorrow's antiques and bygones' fair in Lostwithiel.See the full content of this document
