IT'S been a season of highs and lows for Brendon Hill Stallions, from the tragic loss of competition sire It's Without Doubt to record sales of youngstock.

Following the freak accident involving It's Without Doubt and consequent loss of visiting mares plus the added worry of the global recession, Diana Scott could have been forgiven for thinking that 2009 was going to be an annus horribilis. However, spring saw the arrival of a future star in the shape of a colt foal, Brendonhill Symphony, that has the stamp of both his late father and his great grandfather, the great Ben Faerie.
