IT is impossible to let Chancellor Darling's electioneering Budget pass without comment. He totally failed to acknowledge reality and, like Gordon Brown before him, looked to the rest of the world to blame for all our problems.
This Budget was all about retaining power, rather than getting the UK back on the road to fiscal responsibility. But there was little in it to even tempt core Labour voters to keep the faith, even if there was no actual mention of public spending cuts. If the nation thinks we can emerge from the pitiful depths to which we have fallen without cuts, then, Labour or Conservative, we are in for a big surprise.See the full content of this document
