THE trend of "staycations" which prompted holidaymakers to surge to the South West created a bumper summer for beach rescue services.
In figures out today, the RNLI revealed it had one of its busiest- ever seasons with lifeguards dealing with 7,693 incidents over June, July and August - an increase of more than 600 on last season.See the full content of this document
