An eccentric adventurer, on a mission to fly around the world, has crash-landed in the Caribbean, in the latest mishap on his epic voyage.
Retired vet Maurice Kirk vowed to continue his journey yesterday after his 1943 Piper Cub aircraft, once used by General George Patton, went down after its engine failed around 80 miles from land.
