At last it is realised, according to a new report, that not only are the popular family 4x4 vehicles terribly bad for the environment, but have dangerous blind spots as well.
Apparently, the A-pillars in these vehicles - the columns which separate windscreens from side windows - are so large that they can obscure an entire group of children from the driver's view: critically important because many parents use them for school runs. Because of their size, 4x4 vehicles require thicker A-pillars than smaller vehicles to maintain their structural strength: another reason why we should opt for smaller, less-polluting cars.See the full content of this document
