A former director of a collapsed travel money exchange firm has temporarily stepped down as chairman of a Westcountry council.
Councillor Edward James, chairman of Mendip District Council, was a shareholder in the Crown Currency Exchange company in Cornwall. Mr James was due to meet the Earl of Wessex on Thursday when he visits the Bishop's Palace Gardens in Wells. His deputy, councillor Damon Hooton, will now represent the council at the event.See the full content of this document
