How lovely to read Marian Bull's letter (March 30) regarding Devon cream teas and chudleys. I agree with her that it's cream, jam and chudleys, not Devon cream teas and not scones, which are too sweet.

I was married in 1952 and at our reception we had plates of chudleys. And in 1973 and 1974 my two daughters insisted on chudleys being included at their weddings.
