Summary
People who were given a camera for Christmas could do worse than attempt to snap their way to a pounds500 first prize in a new, national, photographic competition. As part of its centenary celebrations, the Country Land and Business Association has launched a competition to find the pictures that best illustrate the positive aspects of land management and farming. A range of prizes include a monthly hamper for early entries. With the competition running until August 31, there will be plenty of time for dramatic and creative entries that highlight the contrasting seasons, but there are also monthly prizes so photographers are encouraged to enter early to increase their chances of winning. There is also an under 18-year-old category to encourage younger photographers and the winner will receive pounds100. Entry forms and rules can be downloaded at www.cla.org.uk/ photography or by phoning 020 7235 0511.
