FIREFIGHTERS battled for 12 hours to extinguish a pile of around 200 tonnes of wood which had caught fire on open ground.
Two fire crews used a water carrier, tractors and front loaders to try to break up the wood to help tackle the flames at Gwithian, near Hayle in Cornwall, which were first reported just before 10pm on Tuesday.See the full content of this document
