Summary


Last Friday's High Court judgement, in which Justice Lloyd Jones ruled against the Badger Trust in its attempt to have the Welsh Assembly Government's proposed badger cull declared illegal, may yet prove to be a double-edged sword in the battle against the disease.

On the one hand, at least the Welsh cull can now go ahead, thereby allowing its effectiveness to be tested where it matters most - in one of the most heavily infected tuberculosis hotspots in the country.
