Cult 1980s indie band The Wedding Present are to play in the South West at an event aiming to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
The band will play at the Music Against Domestic Abuse festival at Exeter Phoenix on Sunday, June 21. It is run by the charity of the same name set up by Cullompton health worker Andy Stapley five years ago to help put an end to violence in the home. Lead singer David Gedge said the band had been "thrilled" to be asked to play. "Domestic violence and abuse affects a complete cross-section of society, causing misery and suffering to thousands of victims across the UK," he said.See the full content of this document
