It has been reported that about Pounds 8.3bn of pre-accession EU funds has been allocated to Turkey, Albania, Bosnia and other countries in Europe, despite the fact that they are unlikely to become members of the EU.
As if this was not bad enough, it appears that the UK has contributed some Pounds 1.1bn or just over 13 per cent to this sum. It seems astonishing that at a time of massive public spending cuts, the Coalition Government is willing to allow UK taxpayers' money to be used on planning a further expansion of the EU, an already unwieldy organisation.See the full content of this document
