Housing could be built on a school site to fund new facilities for deaf children. The Royal Academy for Deaf Children in Exeter needs a new school to meet demand from pupils. But with the costs put at pounds77 million the school says it may have to sell some land to fund the project. Councillors have said they accept the school, off Topsham Road, needs to sell before it can build. Coun Marcel Choules said: "I would like to see affordable housing, social housing and especially down-sizing."
