Summary
Defra is consulting the fishing industry, conservationists, and other parties on plans to conserve England's stock of lobsters by raising its minimum landing size (MLS) to 90mm carapace length (measured from the rear of the eye socket to the nearest edge of the main body shell).
While the Sea Fisheries Committees (SFCs) in Cornwall, Devon and South Wales already have such measures in place with jurisdiction out to six miles offshore, many other SFCs still permit the landing of lobsters with a carapace length of 87mm.See the full content of this document
