T he Vendee Globe round the world race has been in full swing for 40 days now. Since the fleet left Les Sables d'Olonne, when five members overcame early disasters and three others were immediately forced to abandon, new problems have emerged as those remaining head into the dreaded Southern Ocean.
Of the 30 boats that started, just 19 remain. And the keel problems and dismastings which have become synonymous with this class have yet again been responsible for most of the retirements, although there have been quite a few rudder issues too.See the full content of this document
