One, from Robert Domleo, a farmer at Umberleigh in North Devon, was cheering in that there are quite a few on his farm. A birdwatcher at Barnstaple phoned to say marsh tits visit his garden and he also sees them regularly on his walks to Tawstock Woods.

Jeremy Davidson of Tutwell, Cornwall, has marsh tits in the valley leading into the Tamar Valley and mentions buzzards and sparrowhawks being about. This shows there are plenty of mammals and smaller birds, for raptors do not live where there is no hope of food, any more than we do.
