I was interested to read the article by Alan Goddard regarding the "health and safety gone mad" situation.

In simple terms, it has gone mad and there has been an unhealthy growth of parasitic businesses and bureaucracy out of the political correctness it has spawned. Throw in the environmental legislation and it rockets even more. It is not good and something needs to be done about it. The "no win no fee" and legal expenses' indemnity situation needs a real shake-up too, not to deny real cases of justice but to stamp down on the ones we "all" know are not equitable.
