I, LIKE Barry Thomas if Redruth, read with horror about the prospect of Double Summer Time being reintroduced.

It didn't work during the war, so what excuse has this thoughtless Government got apart from maybe using tourism as a saviour of our failing economy? Doesn't it realise that the hours of daylight and darkness remain the same whatever? Has any consideration been given to those essential members of our society who already rise early - postal workers, transport, bakers, refuse collectors and road cleaners etc.
