Summary
THEY were the biggest band ever to play at Eden but - at the risk of upsetting the thousands of Oasis fans who braved heavy thunderous downpours to witness their idols - their lacklustre show was one of the least impressive I've witnessed against the backdrop of those iconic biomes.
It's hard to pin down why it felt like the Gallagher brothers and company were just going through the motions, but having revelled in Kasabian's fresh, vibrant and triumphant performance 10 days earlier, and the joyful melee of indie rockers The Maccabees and Razorlight (complete with new drummer celebrating his birthday) a few days later, I felt the Manchester massive just didn't match up in either spirit or delivery.
