A LAST ditch attempt to stop the transfer of specialist cancer services out of Cornwall will be made by health campaigners today.
Graham Webster, vice-chairman of Healthcare Initiative for Cornwall, will be addressing Cornwall Council's Health and Adult Overview Committee urging them to rescind a hugely unpopular decision about the removal of upper gastro-intestinal (upper GI) cancer surgery to Plymouth. In April, the previous Liberal Democrat controlled administration ruled that the transfer from Truro's Royal Cornwall Hospital could go ahead as it did not represent "a substantial change" to patients.See the full content of this document
