Energy Group Is Expecting 'Substantially Higher' Profits

THE energy firm behind Southern Electric, Swalec and Scottish Hydro Electric yesterday said it expected profits to be "substantially higher" than last year.

Scottish & Southern Energy said the figure for the six months to September 30 compared with "exceptionally low" profits a year earlier, when the surplus fell 54 per cent to Pounds 302.6 million due to delayed price rises.
