AN East Cornwall distribution company has acquired three former Somerfield stores from the Co-operative group, to roll out a new high street supermarket.
The Appleby Westward Group has acquired the branches in Keynsham, Liskeard and Minehead for an undisclosed sum. The stores will be modified to become the first Eurospar stores to open in the region, with Appleby Westward planning to invest up to Pounds 750,000 in developing and converting them. Saltash-based Appleby Westward, which is the distribution company for Spar in the South West, said it aimed to have the stores trading before Christmas.
