Event Opens Eyes to New Way of Training

Summary

I CAN'T believe it has come about so quickly. I am starting to get really excited now. The preparations have been going extremely well. I was concerned at how much we would have to do, particularly in preparation for the dressage to music as I have never done it before, and how different the training would need to be for this event.

It has actually turned out to be an excellent few weeks that have really opened my eyes to a new way of training. It has been a massive boost for the team and I am sure this is going to make me a better rider. I really believe that the intensive dressage Shaabrak and I have done over the last few weeks will play a huge part in improving my marks next season. I think I can move from the 37 I was achieving at Badminton and Burghley to 30 or even late 20s. The cross country training has been pretty intense too - we have been setting up some of the most difficult jumps from all sorts of strange angles to ensure we are fully prepared for whatever the world renowned Pierre Michelet, the course designer, has in store for us.
