FOX in the woods, along the path - a fine sight near home. It was around 11am, so the fox was possibly doing a bit of diurnal hunting, or maybe it has been disturbed from its lair. Rarely does one get a second view if the fox knows you are about, especially if it sees a dog with you. But I well recall the day a dog and a fox played, chasing among the trees in a wood as the dog's owner looked on in amazement. I refer to it in my book Old Red, the story of a Devon fox.
