It has taken Giles Chichester a long time to come out of the woodwork with the news that, contrary to widely accepted views, the EU has had its accounts "signed off " after all.
What a relief ! Mind, this assertion throws the whole question of the EU and its questionable financial integrity into doubt. Which to believe - accounts signed off or not signed off ? Throwing his spanner in like this is a bit like the Iranian leadership asserting that the Holocaust never happened. Someone will believe them. As the centuries roll on, future historians will debate it, even though today we know it is not a matter for debate. It is a good tactic, though.
