Summary
Sunset colours, a gentle glow of orange and gold, touching red upon the Scots pine's bark, lighting the sky westwards and hark, there is the call of an owl from the ancient wood, all feels peaceful, all seems good. By the stream a heron stands as if rooted, like the very trees about, perhaps the bird will remain during the night and on the morrow hope for trout.
That is how it was on this summer's eve, the few Scots pines no doubt planted many years ago along a lane that once saw pack horses along this route to several mills, water mills.See the full content of this document
