Recession is holding South West businesses back from employing working mothers, according to new findings. A regional survey of 100 SMEs by workplace resources provider Regus has revealed that while 43 per cent of bosses are considering hiring staff in 2011, yet only 32 per cent will be taking on returning mums.
A Regus spokesman said: "The recession seems to be awakening old prejudices about hiring returning mothers, with employers saying they fear that working mums are less committed than other staff and will leave to have another child after training."See the full content of this document
