Flood Damage Could Have Been Avoided

Summary


Over the past few weeks we have seen many pictures in the press and on TV of flooded homes and shops, yet in many instances we see that no attempt has been made by occupants to keep the water out, except possibly for a few sandbags put out at the last minute (and sand does not keep out much water).

Of course some of the flooding was of such a depth or so totally unexpected that little could be done to prevent it entering. But in many instances it is probable that a little inexpensive work done well beforehand would have ensured minimal damage.
