The fall in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the UK from 5.6 per cent in September to 4.8 per cent is clearly very welcome news.
A fall in the cost of everyday items such as food, petrol and clothing have been contributory factors, while the cost of keeping warm in the home and, surprisingly, alcohol have prevented the CPI from falling even lower.See the full content of this document
