Residents of a Westcountry town were put on standby to evacuate after a stock of hand grenades and ammunition was uncovered by workmen.
Three hand grenades, a quantity of 7.62mm ammunition and containers labelled "Poison" were found in New Road, South Molton, Devon yesterday. Officers were called to the street after reports that live ammunition had been unearthed at a building site.See the full content of this document
