Summary
For the first time in the Holstein Society's 100-year history, a Devon man has been elected president. William Ley, who farms at Thurborough, Sutcombe, was elected at the national conference in Bideford.
Over 200 people attended the three-day conference which included herd visits to the Laity family at Truro, the Palmer family at Chawleigh and the president's own herd at Thuborough. It culminated with a dinner for over 250 people at the Durrant House Hotel. Members attended from as far afield as Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.See the full content of this document
