'Hoodies' Ban Lifted On Teens

Summary

Two teenagers banned from covering their heads in public will now be allowed to wear "hoodies" after magistrates decided to lift the condition when granting anti-social behaviour orders (Asbos). Ben Bramall, 18, and Dean Isaac, 19, of Torquay, were yesterday banned from entering the Plainmoor and St Marychurch areas of the resort for two years as part of the order imposed by Plymouth magistrates to stop them threatening or intimidating members of the public. But magistrates decided the pair, accused by police of a string of alleged thefts and petty crime, could continue to wear their hoodies in public. Torbay Council had secured an interim order banning Bramall, Isaac and two other youths from wearing caps, hooded tops or other headwear that could conceal their identities.
