I WAS pleased to see the WMN editorial highlighting the cost of hospital car parking. In a low-wage area where many patients and family travel long distances this is another burden on already stretched budgets.
I have been campaigning against the hospital car parking charges at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, for some time. This followed my own experiences of being charged for a minimum parking stay of two hours. Many people do not need to stay that long. Often patients need personal items dropped in or if, as in my case, the patient is unconscious for long periods of time, the opportunity to call in on short, regular visits.See the full content of this document
