A Westcountry MP has warned that tourists could be driven away from the Westcountry if plans for a controversial 'bed tax' are put in place.

Richard Younger-Ross, MP for Teignbridge, said holidaymakers would choose to go on cheap packages abroad rather than pay the additional three per cent cost, which would go to the local authority.
