HULA hoop fans failed to break a world record for the largest number of people "hooping" but said they were thrilled to raise hundreds of pounds for charity. Around 300 people turned out to hula hoop on Berrow beach in Somerset yesterday in an attempt to take the world record for the number of people "hooping" for two minutes at the same time.
Organiser Dominique Beach said the weather could be to blame for the turnout falling far short of the current record, which stands at 2,290.See the full content of this document
