We must ensure that the actions of one country do not undermine the actions of another. In an interconnected world, no nation will gain by driving down the fortunes of another. We are in this together. We will come through this together... That's what President George W Bush comfortingly said over the weekend. Our own Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, agrees with the President. Totally. Unless the other nation is Iceland, in which case all bets are off. Mr Brown will do exactly as he pleases, and Reykjavik can scream blue murder all it wants, to no avail.
