Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton angrily denied that he had been responsible for unsettling Plymouth Argyle midfielder David Norris, after his side and the Pilgrims had met on the pitch in Suffolk last night.

Argyle manager Paul Sturrock excluded Norris from his squad for last night's 0-0 Coca-Cola Championship draw at Portman Road, which the Pilgrims could have won had Steven MacLean not missed a second half penalty. David Sheepshanks, the Suffolk side's chairman, revealed yesterday that his club have stepped up their pursuit of the 26-year-old, whom they have been keen on since last summer.
